Dwayne “The Wolfman” Johnson?

It's not like he has much else to do...

I’ve spoken before about how certain movies do not need a cinematic universes forced upon them, the Universal’s monster movies is one of them. The studio is kicking it off with The Mummy starring Tom Cruise and now reports are coming in that the next entry will be The Wolf Man staring a certain Scorpion king.

I hope they have a large hair budget for The Wolf Man….

Yes “persistent rumors” say that Universal have eyes on Johnson to star in The Wolf Man, and seeing as he clearly has a problem with turning roles down maybe this rumor will come true. The guy has a very busy schedule currently filming yet another Fast & Furious movie and is slated to appear in a sequel to San Andreas, A Shazam reboot, Doc Savage, The Baywatch reboot, A Jumanji reboot, an adaptation of the Rampage video game and a third sequel to the Journey series.

The studio have been trying to secure big names for this series of films. They want Angelina Jolie to star in The Bride of Frankenstein but it’s not been confirmed if she has been secured yet. Other monsters universal ma bring back to the screen include The Creature from the Black Lagoon, the Invisible Man, and possible another Dracula after the lack luster release of the Luke Evans movie ‘Dracula Untold’

Sorry Luke Mate, You’re Not Invited…

The cinematic universe kick off with The Mummy scheduled for release on June 9, 2017. Interestingly Universal have also scheduled releases for further entries in he Monster Mash at about a year apart the first being April 13, 2018, and then February 15, 2019.
