The Secret Life Of Pets has won the box office weekend, opening with $103.2M and has earned is the best start ever for an original animated property. This will no doubt be the start of a new franchise so expect ‘The Secret Life Of Pets 2: Secret Harder’, that’s what tends to happens to movies with these kind of numbers.
Following ‘The Secret Life Of Pets’ and sitting in second place is Warner Bros take on ‘The Legend of Tarzan’ which earned $20.6 million. Followed by the huge ‘Finding Dory’ making an additional $20.4 million, then Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, earning $16.6 million, and The Purge: Election Year closed out the top five films, earning another $11.7 million.
