Hear me moan,
The nominations for the BAFTA Games Awards 2016 have been announced so I thought I’d take a stab at them and see which ones bleed – we won’t know until April 7th, which is when the results will be announced, but odds are Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture will walk away victorious considering it has been nominated 10 fucking times.
Artistic Achievement
Who I want to win: Ori & the Blind Forest
Why? Because it looks beautiful and has a heart-warming art style
Who will probably win: Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture
Audio Achievement
Who I want to win: Batman: Arkham Knight
Why? Because Batman’s voice never gets old and his menagerie of villains bring audible variety to the franchise
Who will probably win: Star Wars: Battlefront
Best Game
Who I want to win: Life Is Strange
Why? Because it’s not another triple-A game and uh, time travel
Who will probably win: Fallout 4
British Game
Who I want to win: Tearaway Unfolded
Why? Because Atoi is fucking adorable
Who will probably win: Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, again
Debut Game
Who I want to win: Her Story
Why? Because it’s the wankiest game I’ve seen in a while

Family
Who I want to win: Rocket League
Why? Because it’s a better football game than FIFA 16
Who will probably win: Lego Dimensions
Game Design
Who I want to win: Grow Home
Why? Because its visual style was reminiscent of the good ol’ days (N64)
Who will probably win: Bloodborne
Game Innovation
Who I want to win: Until Dawn
Why? Because that game fooled everyone who played it
Who will probably win: MGSV: Phantom Pain
Mobile & Handheld
Who I want to win: Lara Croft GO
Why? Because at least it’s not Fallout Shelter
Who will probably win: Alphabear

Who I want to win: Destiny: The Taken King
Why? Because it’s basically Halo, right?
Who will probably win: Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

Who I want to win: Halo 5: Guardians
Why? Because the Halo soundtrack makes me nostalgic
Who will probably win: Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, again
