Today we get our first look at the new Power Rangers from the upcoming Power Rangers movie reboot. It’s goodbye Lycra and spandex as they have taken on a more robotic looking suit.

The movies synopsis reads very much what you would expect a power ranger movie to read like:

“Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.”

Dean Israelite is in the directors chair and the movie is being written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz whose credits include Thor and X-Men: First Class.

No release date as yet but the film is due for  a 2017 release.
