Media juggernaut Netflix is reviving the cult classic ‘Lost In Space’. Based on the 1960s series from creator Irwin Allen, Lost in space centers around the Robinson family who find themselves… lost in space, obviously.
The series will have Prison Break’s Zack Estrin as showrunner with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless on writing duties. The pair have recently worked together on Dracula Untold and Last Witch Hunter. Which were… movies. Neil Marshall is being brought in to direct some of the episodes, he has the previously directed episodes of Black Sails and Game of Thrones so that should peak a few people’s interest.
The very important sounding Vice President of Original Content at Netflix, Cindy Holland, Said:
“The original series so deftly captured both drama and comedy, and that made it very appealing to a broad audience. The current creative team’s re-imagining of the series for Netflix is sure to appeal to both fans who fondly remember the original and to create a new generation of enthusiasts around the world.”
Unfortunately we will have to wait till 2018 before it hits the streaming service, let’s hope it has the quality of other Netflix shows such as Daredevil rather than the piss poor 1998 Matt LeBlanc movie
