Escape routes with just a map (Tanked Up 336)

Just Aadil and Lucy this week, so naturally we take some time out to talk about the nonsense meme of caring too much about pineapple on pizzas.

It’s been a minute and Lucy has played a few games. We talk about her time with “Escape Academy”, as well as how it differs from “Escape Simulator”. Lucy finally got around to taking (previous guest) Adam’s game of the year: “Powerwash Simulator”, thanks to gamespass.

Lucy also has spent quite a bit of time with, the very poignant given recent weather in the UK, “Endling: Extinction is Forever”.

We both take a sidetrack to talk about no longer acquiring all of the games, thanks to things like gamespass as well as a change in perspective on completionism and our limited time for hobbies like gaming. ENJOY YOUR LIFE

We then moved to this week’s topic, the different approaches to development in communication, and trust in the audience, of where to go and what might be interesting and fun in open world games. We talk “Far Cry”, “Assasin’s Creed”, our different approaches to “Elden Ring”, and the uniqueness of the map and manual in “Tunic”.

Lucy drank “Let Me Know” Pale Ale DEYA x Cotteridge Wines collab in celebration of the latter’s 27th anniversary. Aadil had the “I Love Lamp” Pinapple Hefeweizen from Evil Genius.
