Year of the Drake

Developer Naughty Dog’s latest release Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End seems to be brushing opposition aside, even before the official release.

According to the critic rating site ‘Metacritic’, Uncharted 4 is now officially the number one best reviewed game of 2016, beating out the likes of Dark Souls III & Rise of the Tomb Raider. Nathan Drake has earned himself an impressive score of 94/100 which has bumped this latest sequel into the all time PS4 rankings too.

Uncharted 4 has also managed to crack the chart for the best reviewed 100 games of all time on Metacritic. It currently sits at number 71 and sharing the same score as games such as Skyrim, Gears of War, Bioshock and Metal Gear Solid. Not bad company at all.

The synopsis for the game is as follows:

Uncharted 4 is set several years after the events of Uncharted 3 with Nathan Drake, now retired as a fortune hunter, settled into a normal life with his wife Elena Fisher. His world is then turned upside down when his older brother Sam, long believed to be dead, suddenly reappears seeking Drake’s help. Together they embark on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a conspiracy behind Libertalia, a long lost pirate colony, and its fabled pooled pirate treasure. Naughty Dog outlined the game’s plot as “his greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately, what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves”
