New Mortal Kombat Movie Incoming

"I don't think so"

Paul W S Anderson’s original Mortal Kombat film has developed an almost cult like status, and to be fair to it it’s actually a pretty decent video game adaptation especially when you compare it to the likes of the ‘Street fighter’ movie. The movie did pretty well at the box office and went on to spawn a sequel.

Now Christopher Lambert, Who played Raiden in the original, reveals we may be getting a third Mortal Kombat film, with Lambert back in that glorious white wig.  In an interview with Loaded magazine he said:

“They have a great idea for the third one, it will be very different,” he went on to say “We are going to be travelling through time but in a very special way. So imagine characters having a battle in the middle of London and then whoosh, you smash through a window and find yourself on the hood of a New York cab”

Lambert actually missed out on the first sequel, Mortal Kombat :Annihalation, due to scheduling conflicts. That was probably for the best as that movie was poorly received and the script was dire. There is no news yet on whether Paul W S Anderson is returning to the franchise.
