Overwatch Characters to Receive Possible Nerfs and Buffs

McCree and D.Va changes coming?

Blizzard Entertainment’s latest game Overwatch has been an outstanding success and fan favourite of late, even though people are starting to find a few balance issues with some of the characters. This problem was bought up on a game forum and principal designer Geoff Goodman replied letting the fans know that they can expect possible changes to some of the roster, more specifically a nerf to McCree, reducing his damage.

“I’ve been watching McCree carefully since we’ve released. McCree’s flashbang plays an important role in being a strong option against very fast/agile teams (Tracers/Genjis/etc). It is also a nice tool to prevent close range devastating abilities and ultimates such as Reaper’s Death Blossom. That said, it’s probably a bit too good at dealing damage to higher health targets such as Tanks and barriers. I don’t have any concrete changes yet, but I’m going to be testing some things internally to see how he plays.”

Goodman then went into a bit more detail about what exactly he is looking to change with McCree

“By saying ‘it’s probably a bit too good at dealing damage to higher health targets,’ I mean his flash/fan combo, not the flash itself. Fan is more likely to see changes than flash at this point.”

After explaining his thoughts about the gunslinger, Goodman talked about D.va and changes that could be heading her way.

“D.Va’s damage is definitely on the lower side, much like Winston’s. They are this way for a similar reason: They’re both very mobile and hard to kill. That said, I do think there is some room for some D.Va improvements. But these are unlikely to take the shape of increasing her damage output significantly.”

So what do you think of the changes the team over at Blizzard are proposing? Are there any characters that you feel are in need of a tweak? Let us know below and we’ll keep you updated with any more news about changes to Overwatch.
