Ant-man and the Wasp is directed by Peyton Reed who also directed the first Ant-Man movie, and once again stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michael Pena and many, many more.

This time around Ant-Man aka Scott Lang has been under house arrest ever since the events of Captain America: Civil War and is coming to the end of said house arrest all until Hope Van Dyne and Hank Pym come back into his life with an urgent mission that gets him put on the Ant-Man suit once again.

The first Ant-Man I thought was a brilliant and funny little heist film with a lot of heart, and Ant-Man and the Wasp is pretty much the same type of movie, is it as good and as rememberable as Black Panther and Infinity War earlier this year? No! but it doesn’t set out to be, it is once again its own little content story in the MCU and there is nothing wrong with that.

The comedy and action mixes really well together, Paul Rudd continues to make the character his own even when the film kind of puts him in the background, Michael Douglas is as awesome as ever and just like the first film they digital de-age him in some amazing sequences, they really are getting better and better at doing that.

Michael Pena one of the biggest standouts from the last film is great once again but this time around it’s Evangeline Lilly who steals the show, she brings a lot of depth and straight to her character and she is completely badass when in costume, she truly has some of the best scenes in the film.

But sadly, just like the first film did but even worst this time around is its villain, Ghost is a terrible villain and the worst thing about it is the character has a really intriguing backstory but the development for the character is left completely wanting which is a real shame.

After coming off the events of Avengers: Infinity War which is a very dark and grim movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp is a really easy-going film, its own basic design is to be a fun film for everyone to be able to go out and watch.

The Final Verdict

Should you go watch Ant and the Wasp? Yes

Why? After what happen in Infinity War! We needed some light-hearted comic-book fun and this film provides that.
